Milkshed Ledger is the publisher of this site. It is an independent online publication on dairy stewardship in California; its editors research every article and sign it collectively with the publication's name.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

Independence

The publication speaks for no agency, certifier or industry body. The Water Boards, CDFA, the University of California and the dairy quality assurance programmes we write about are cited as sources only; none of them is connected with us, and neither is the project that formerly used the cdqa.org domain (see about this domain). No advertiser, sponsor or affiliate pays for any page.

Nature of the information

Articles summarise public regulations, guidance and research for general information. They are not legal, veterinary, engineering or medical advice and do not replace the text of an order, a permit or the advice of a qualified professional who knows a given operation.

Reuse

• All articles are written for this site. Where an order or a study is quoted, the source is named next to it. Linking is free; republishing an article in full needs the editors' agreement.
• Every photograph on the site is a public-domain image, mostly by US federal agencies; the credits page names each author and file.
• The short PDF fact sheets on this site are original summaries written by the editors.

Privacy

Reading Milkshed Ledger leaves no cookie in your browser: there is no audience measurement, no ad network and no social-media button. Typefaces, pictures and PDF sheets all come from the same server as the text. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, handles connection data such as IP addresses and server logs to deliver and secure the pages, under its own privacy policy. We hold no personal data about readers.

Requests

Requests for a correction or an update to an article, and questions about image rights, are handled by the editors of Milkshed Ledger.
