Objectives:
- Delivery of Stewardship Short-Courses and Facility Evaluations
- Delivery of Dairy Farm Security Module
- Delivery of Johne’s Outreach Module
- Program Management: Leveraging resources and research funding
Summary: Partnering with numerous state and federal regulatory agencies, the
University of California and industry CDQAP achieved a high level of success in
providing outreach and assistance to producers. Regulatory agencies valued this
increase compliance sufficiently to become partners in program delivery relative
to air and water regulations. Participation at either the classroom level or the
certification level has made financial benefits available to producers by both
reduction in fees and eligibility for state improvement funds. Central valley
producers participating in the new WDR outreach starting in 2007 will have the
opportunity to realize significant savings by not having to outsource
environmental consulting projects. The program has continued to leverage
significant funding from other public and private sources.
